What comes to mind when you hear about email? Is it something that you use all of the time, or is it a necessary evil for you? Have you heard the rumor that email is dead? And does the idea of "Email Marketing" leave you wondering what that even means?

It's time to change all of that...

First of all, email and email marketing are alive and well in 2020. Think about what everyone has to do to get any kind of account, whether it is a social media account, membership site, or shopping site. They are asked for an email address.

Now if you hate email, and never check your email unless you have to, I understand if you think everyone else is the same. But that is not the case. There are still a lot of online users that use email every day.

You know what another shocker is, is the fact that email marketing beats social media. You might be surprised, but more people have email accounts than social media, and it is believed that 4 billion people have email accounts. The reason as to why email isn't dead is because half of that 4 billion spends at least 50-60 minutes reading their emails.

Every day when users access their inbox, they are accessing information that they have asked to receive. It may be an ad from Amazon or other online retailer. It may be an email from a list that they subscribed to. It may be a link to the top stories of the day.

A lot of these emails could be called "Marketing Emails", yet people are happy to get them and read them and buy from them. Email marketing is not a pushy and obnoxious way to do business. It is not a bad thing. It is the way to show your subscribers what you have to offer and why they should consider buying from you.

If you are considering starting an online business without using email, you're leaving out a powerful way to build a list of subscribers and satisfied customers that you can use to build your business.

Coming up, I will cover some of the ways to use email in a way that will be informative and a welcome addition to your subscribers inbox.
